To provide the homeless with opportunities of employment
San Diego has one of the largest homeless populations in the country. In an effort to help the homeless, The Other Fellow believes employment is a crucial step in getting off the streets. Through job fairs and interaction with employers, the unemployed are able to find opportunities not previously available to them.
Started in 2017, The Other Fellow Inc, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, was created in an effort to help those on the streets with overcoming an important step in their journey back to employment. A simple idea: Connecting those offering jobs, to those on their journey back to employment. Through job fairs, resume building, and on-the-spot interviews, The Other Fellow Inc. works to bring opportunities not previously available to the homeless. With connections to many corporations located in downtown San Diego, The Other Fellow Inc. is able to bridge the gap between employment and the homeless.
Since our creation in 2017, we have partnered with: Connections Housing, Alpha Project, The Grand Hyatt, Nassco, Goodwill, The Fish Market, Sheraton, The Port of San Diego, PMS Cleaning, BAE Systems, and More!
An essential aspect of The Other Fellow mission. By providing the homeless with in-person interaction with employers, opportunities for employment are endless. Bringing the interviews to them makes it readily accessible and convenient. Job fairs build confidence in the attendees with employers, and offers unique opportunities in the job application process.
As a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization, all donations help with our mission to offer opportunities of employment to the homeless and are tax deductible. Our online tax-deductible ID is available at check-out!
